Le légendaire batteur des Stooges, Scott Asheton, est décédé samedi soir à l’âge de 64 ans. Depuis la création du groupe en 1967, il demeurait avec Iggy le seul membre à avoir participé à tous les albums studios du célèbre gang de Detroit. Depuis 2011, il connaissait cependant des problèmes de santé qui l’empêchaient de prendre la route avec Iggy et ses camarades, reformés depuis. Il s’en va rejoindre au paradis des rockers son frère guitariste, Ron, disparu en 2009. L’Iguane, bien évidemment bouleversé par la nouvelle, a adressé hier un vibrant hommage à son vieux frère.

« My dear friend Scott Asheton passed away last night. Scott was a great artist, I have never heard anyone play the drums with more meaning than Scott Asheton. He was like my brother. He and Ron have left a huge legacy to the world. The Ashetons have always been and continue to be a second family to me.
My thoughts are with his sister Kathy, his wife Liz and his daughter Leanna, who was the light of his life. »
