Décidément toujours aussi inspiré après plus de 30 ans de carrière, l’immense Robyn Hitchcock sort ces jours-ci un nouvel album enregistré avec son fidèle super groupe The Venus 3 – Peter Buck de REM, Scott McCaughey (Young Fresh Fellows, Minus 5) et le batteur Bill Rieflin (ex-Ministry). Pour l’occasion, un super guitariste a d’ailleurs intégré les rangs : le guitariste des Smiths Johnny Marr a participé à l’écriture de certains morceaux. Nick Lowe et le bassiste John Paul Jones (Them Crooked Vultures et un autre groupe de hard rock méconnu…) sont aussi de la partie. Le disque, intitulé Propellor Time remonte en fait à trois ans et aurait été enregistré en six jours durant l’été 2006 dans la foulée d’Olé! Tarantula.
