Chers apôtres de feu Johnny Cash, le chapitre V de la bible American Recordings verra la lumière du jour le 4 juillet, date de l’Independence Day aux Etats-Unis. Tout comme ses prédécesseurs, American V: A Hundred Highways a été produit par Rick Rubin. L’album contient encore son lot de reprises (Bruce Springsteen, Hank Williams ) et compos originales signées par le Man in Black : “Like the 309”, serait ainsi le dernier morceau jamais enregistré par la légende, en septembre 2003. Un sixième et final chapître devrait paraître en 2007…
