Après Colin Meloy Sings Morrissey (2005), Colin Meloy Sings Shirley Collins (2006), Colin Meloy Sings Sam Cooke (avril 2008), série de EPs distribués uniquement en tournée, voici Colin Meloy Sings Live!. Le meneur de The Decemberists, en retraite provisoire de son groupe depuis The Crane Wife (2006), sort mi avril son premier album en solo sous l’impulsion du label US Kill Rock Star et Rough Trade en Europe. Il s’agit d’un disque live comprenant des extraits de sa tournée solo donnée en 2006 où, seulement accompagné de sa guitare, il reprend le répertoire de The Decemberists, de son premier groupe Tarkio, quelques compositions solo inédites ainsi qu’une reprise de Pink Floyd et une chanson traditionnelle.
