The Late Great Daniel Johnston (Discovered Covered), album hommage au fou chantant Daniel Johnston sortira le 21 septembre prochain et rassemblera le gratin de la scène indée.

A l’origine, Mark Linkous de Sparklehorse et Jordan Trachtenberg du label Gammon Records ont eu cette riche idée de faire collaborer sur disque les artistes qui revendiquent haut et fort l’influence de Daniel Johnston sur leurs compositions.
Ce double album comportera sur un premier cd dix huit reprises et sur un second cd les versions originales. Ainsi, en attendant un prochain album de Johnston prévu pour 2005 on pourra se délecter des versions signées Beck, Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, Tom Waits, TV on the Radio, Mercury Rev ou Bright Eyes parmi tant d’autres.
